2026 Partners

This Mother’s Day, we’ll be freeing as many Black mamas and caregivers as possible so that they can return home to their families and communities. 

We’re partnering with 13 Black-led organizations in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas.

Barred Business (Atlanta, Georgia)

Barred Business is a membership-based organization founded by multi-generational, multi-gender, and multi-national formerly incarcerated black women to empower marginalized formerly incarcerated people.

Essie Justice Group (Los Angeles, California)

Essie Justice Group is the nation’s leading organization of women with incarcerated loved ones taking on the rampant injustices created by mass incarceration.

Guided by the lived experiences of formerly-incarcerated folx, Free Atlanta Abolition Movement works to extricate our people from dehumanizing cages and to resource a network of healing, legal and mutual aid as we organize to build alternative futures for ourselves and our communities. Their mission is to create transformative systemic change through the creation of a Black-led abolition foundation and network as we organize and envision an end to discriminatory, coercive, and oppressive jailing. They believe that every movement towards our mission and vision helps dismantle the social, political, and economic barriers that dehumanize Black people.

Life After Release (Prince George’s County, Maryland)

Life After Release is dedicated to supporting formerly incarcerated individuals through comprehensive programs and services. Their initiatives include providing access to education, job training, housing assistance, and legal support. They also focus on advocacy efforts to reform policies and reduce barriers to reintegration.

Grassroots Leadership (Houston, Texas)

Grassroots Leadership believes that no one should profit from the incarceration of human beings. They work with communities across the nation to abolish for-profit private prisons, jails, and detention centers.

The Official Black Lives Matter Memphis Chapter exists to dismantle systems that oppress us. We affirm all Black folks and their varied identities, including religion, gender, and sexual orientation. They work to create alternatives that allow our people to thrive and live the lives they deserve.

Mass Liberation Nevada (Las Vegas, Nevada)

Mass Liberation Nevada’s vision is to build a bigger movement and to help change the political conditions necessary to make community liberation possible for BIPOC. They’re working toward this by focusing on the grassroots organizing capacity of directly-impacted people and their loved ones, including people who are formerly incarcerated, have a felony conviction, have a sentence of probation or parole, or whose lives have been directly affected by the criminal legal system in other ways. Their programs of support include skills training, coaching, political education, organizing & electoral strategy and a fellowship program for new and emerging directly-impacted organizers.

Little Rock Freedom Fund (Little Rock, Arkansas)

The Little Rock Freedom Fund (LRFF) is a Black-led movement organization that was founded by veteran Black activists in Little Rock amid the 2020 Summer of Resistance. LRFF’s mission is to work alongside marginalized communities in Arkansas to devise and implement strategies to achieve racial and social justice. In carrying out this mission, we engage with activists, organizers, protestors, and everyday Arkansans to educate, organize, and mobilize people directly impacted by the most pressing issues of today, such as pretrial detention, unmitigated trauma, and voter disenfranchisement.

NC Community Bail Fund of Durham (Durham, North Carolina)

NC Community Bail Fund of Durham assists those who cannot afford their freedom by posting secure cash bail, advocating for unsecured bail, and supporting individuals through their journey in the criminal justice system — giving people a fair shot and returning them to their homes, jobs, and loved ones.

Philadelphia Community Bail Fund (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)

Philadelphia Community Bail Fund’s mission is to end cash bail in Philadelphia and to free those who cannot afford to post bail.

Reale Justice Network is committed to uplifting justice-involved individuals and survivors of violence. We provide trauma-informed care, mentorship, and systemic advocacy to ensure long-term transformation and empowerment.

Women on the Rise (Atlanta, Georgia)

Women on the Rise Georgia was created to bridge the gap in support for formerly incarcerated women and their families by harnessing the power and expertise of our lived experiences. We work to dismantle oppressive laws and policies through advocacy, education, and healing. Through organizing and storytelling, we uplift justice-impacted voices to drive lasting change and build collective power.
