Our Impact

Since 2017, National Bail Out has been committed to fighting for a world where carceral systems are unimaginable solutions to social problems.

#FreeBlackMamas 2023

In 2023, National Bail Out and partner organizations bailed out Black mamas and caregivers across the nation in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas.

Thanks to the support of 7,002 individual donors, we've bailed out 156 Black Mamas and caregivers, raised $559,428.98, paid $2,899,820 in bail, provided $453,000 to support our partner organizations, and granted $780,000 to support short and long-term supportive services (housing assistance, employment, healthcare, transportation to court dates, and referrals to legal services).

“We do these bail outs until we run out of funds.”
